game types: here are the most commonly played game types. these are not all of them but if you find yourself playing a game type not listed here then you should get yourself out of that mess while you can.

free for all:
basically it's every man for himself. the only
thing that you have to worry about in this game type is killing. the player with the most points at the end is declared the winner.

team war: in this game type you are paired up with either 1 or 2 other players and it is 1 team vs another. the main objective here is to get as many points as you can for your team. the team with the most points wins.

capture the flag: this game type is a little differant from the rest. yeah getting the most points is still your main goal but in this it's a little bit more involved. again there are 2 teams and at each teams base there is a flag. whichever team gets both flags back to their base scores. killing also earns you points but not nearly as many as capturing a flag.

maps:
anubis1 is the main map for Outwars. it is very big and very hard to learn for someone who has just started playing the game. sure there are about 10-12 other maps to play in Outwars but I have been playing for 4 years and have only played other maps on 2 occasions. the screenshots show the most common combat areas on this vast map.

rules: there are certain things one should just not do when they start playing a new game. unfortunatly most people have to find out the hard way what goes and what doesn't. lucky for you, you don't have to find out from someone getting angry at you for doing something you didn't know you shouldn't be doing.

rule 1:
no cloaking. cloaking is where you temporarily disapear on radar. no one likes a cloaker so don't find yourself wandering into one of those cloak pick-ups. not sure what a cloak pick-up looks like? now you do so don't say "oh i'm sorry i didn't know what it did".

rule 2: no spawning. spawning is where you get re spawned and plant mines where you stand so that the next person to get re spawned automatically gets hurt or killed. this is not like cloaking...people will not only get mad they probably won't even let you play.

conclusion: ok well that's all you need to know in order to start playing Outwars. I hope this guide helped you and the time I spent putting it all together went to good use. just remember that you are NEW and not to give up after a couple of tries. who knows maybe someday you will be as good as me......nah doubt it =)
